Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does it cost to join?
Really, you get such a return on your investment it is very reasonable to join. Regular membership is $10. Junior (up to age 18) is $5. Family membership is $15 (a really good deal). Each membership includes a name tag, membership card and one monthly electronic newsletter for those with e-mail (by postal mail otherwise). Membership also affords you the opportunity to submit items to the auction table, to have your coins certified at a special rate, to attend membership banquets, and receive membership medals (when offered), and gives you access to the Members Only section of the website, and much more. As you can see, our club membership dues are very reasonable and surely worth the value returned especially the fellowship and numismatic shared knowledge.

  • How do auctions work at the WCS monthly membership meetings?
Members and guests may participate in bidding to buy the items. Only members may submit items to be auctioned off. Generally the lead-time to submit is 2-3 meetings with a limit of 3 items per submitter per auction. There is a nominal fee to submit items to the Auction Coordinator. Items sold under $20 = .25cents. Items sold over $20= $1.00/item. The Auction coordinator reserves the right to refuse and / or withdraw an item at his discretion. Reserve prices are based on a number of factors and sources and usually set at 50% of the market value. Items returned or not sold are not charged the fee. You may re-submit an item for a future auction.
