Banquet/Show/Convention Listing

  The Waterloo Coin Society held a convention every year from 1960 to 1975.  These conventions had a coin show (bourse) and banquet.  In 1976 they switched to only holding a one day coin show in the fall.  Banquets would return in 1983 as an one evening only event for the June meeting.  The WCS has also hosted conventions in conjunction with the CNA and ONA.

1st Annual Convention - March 12, 1960 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

2nd Annual Convention - March 11, 1961 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

3rd Annual Convention - March 24/25, 1962 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.                                                  Held in conjunction with ONA founding Convention

4th Annual Convention - March 9/10, 1963 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

5th Annual Convention - March 14/15, 1964 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

6th Annual Convention - March 13/14, 1965 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

7th Annual Convention - March 12/13, 1966 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

8th Annual Convention - May 26/27/28, 1967 at the KW Granite Club, Kitchener, Ont.                                           Held in conjunction with 5th Annual ONA Convention

9th Annual Convention - March 30/31, 1968 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

10th Annual Convention - March 29/30, 1969 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

11th Annual Convention - April 4/5, 1970 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

12th Annual Convention - March 27/28, 1971 at the Holiday Inn, Kitchener, Ont.

13th Annual Convention - March 25/26, 1972 at the Holiday Inn, Kitchener, Ont.

14th Annual Convention - April 14/15, 1973 at the Waterloo Motor Inn, Waterloo Ont.

15th Annual Convention - April 26/27, 1974 at Fairview Park Mall, Kitchener, Ont.

16th Annual Convention - March 22/23, 1975 at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, Ont.

This would mark the end of the Annual spring conventions for the WCS.

It was decided by the executive to switch to a one day Fall show in 1976

1st Annual Fall Coin Show - Sept. 19, 1976 at Knights of Columbus, Waterloo, Ont.

No shows, conventions or banquets in 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981,1982

In 1983 it was decided by the executive to hold an Annual Dinner banquet in place of the June meeting. 

1st Annual Dinner Banquet - Angie's Kitchen, St Agatha - June 21, 1983

Annual Banquets held every year for June meeting at Angie's until 1994

Annual Banquets for June meetings changed location to Tien Hoa Inn, Waterloo starting 1995 until 2000.

No Banquets held starting 2001 due to lack of interest.

The WCS Hosted the ONA Convention on April 27-29, 1990.  It was held at the Holiday Inn, Kitchener

WCS executive decided to resume Fall shows in 1991

6th Annual Fall Coin Show - November 18, 1995 - Rink In the Park, Waterloo, Ont.

7th Annual Fall Coin Show - November 16, 1996 - Rink In the Park, Waterloo, Ont.

8th Annual Fall Coin Show - November 22, 1997 - Rink In the Park, Waterloo, Ont.

9th Annual Fall Coin Show - November 21, 1998 - Wing 404, RCAF Assc., Waterloo, Ont.

The WCS hosted the CNA Convention on July 22-25, 1999.  It was held at Four Points Sheraton, Kitchener

10th Annual Fall Coin Show - November 20, 1999 - Wing 404, RCAF Assc., Waterloo, Ont.

In 2000, WCS joined with South Wellington Coin Club and Paisley School Coin Club to jointly host a fall show.

2nd Annual Joint Fall Coin Show - November 4, 2001 - Col. John McCrae Royal Cdn. Legion, Guelph, Ont.

In 2002, the joint coin show was hosted by just South Wellington Coin Club & Waterloo Coin Society

3rd Annual Joint Fall Coin Show - September 21, 2002 - Col. John McCrae Royal Cdn. Legion, Guelph, Ont.

4th Annual Joint Fall Coin Show - September 14, 2003 - Col. John McCrae Royal Cdn. Legion, Guelph, Ont.

5th Annual Joint Fall Coin Show - October 2, 2004 - Col. John McCrae Royal Cdn. Legion, Guelph, Ont.
